Mid-model year changes??

What are your guess's for what mid-model year changes Toyota will do to the Camry? Most likely for the 2010 year.
I think the Camry still competes very well with all its competition and doesnt need a lot of changes.

They made one change from 07 to 09. The little plastic buttons to operate the moonroof are different. LOL !

I'm interested in knowing. I think I made a thread on this a while back.

So far, the changes have been virtually nonexistent. Certainly, all of the tweaks offered via TSB's have been implemented in the new models.

As for mid-generation changes, I'd lay odds of maybe ten-to-one that any cosmetic changes might make the car look WORSE, not better. About the only thing I could see would be to do something different with the grille, especially for the plain-color-bar CE/LE models. I certainly see nothing you could do but ruin the headlights or taillights, short of adding HID's in the front and LED's in the rear. I doubt you'll see either of those, though.

I tend to think it'll be much like the previous-generation Corolla -- virtually no cosmetic or interior changes whatsoever through the life of the generation.

There's the new 2.7-liter engine mentioned for the Venza that I suppose they could add or replace the 2.4-liter four with, and also the mating of either with the six-speed automatic transmission. I expect something around these engine/transmission changes would be mostly what we might see for any mid-generation changes.

In the end, I think you should look from the perspective of where we are right now -- Camry is selling better than it ever has, apparently being one of the top destinations for people bailing out of huge trucks and SUV's. So, should Toyota just keep on cranking out the Camry that they're selling like hotcakes, or should they mess with it? Personally, I don't really see a need for any changes, so I wouldn't be surprised to see essentially no mid-cycle change at all. "We shall see!"

I think some improvements in interior quality and/or design would be very beneficial to the Camry's sales and reputation. It would definitely eliminate the criticism that the Camry receives from the press over the so-called "quality decline" from the last generation.

The new 2.7L I4 paired with the six-speed automatic would help the Camry as well--it would give the Camry the much needed power and efficiency boost to keep it competitive. I'm really curious what changes will be made to the V6. If I'm not mistaken, the MMC during the last generation added a five-speed automatic and some engine tweaks for the V6. May Toyota add Direct Injection for the V6?
