[pic] From Austin to Dallas I got 40.0mpg

I set my speedometer to 65mpg on my way to Dallas and this is what I got.
Pic was taken during a traffic tie up hence the slow speed. Before the slow down it actually read 40.0mpg.

Gen6

I've hit 39+ indicated on mine too at 62-65 mph.

Actual mpg is about 1.5 less but still excellent...........

My friend and I were discussing this the other day. It seems like my camry get's almost unbelieveable gas mileage when on extended trips at high speeds. I drove from Cincinnati, OH, to Clarkston, MI (290 miles), doing in the range of 80-95 the entire way, and I used almost exactly a half a tank of gas. My tank is 18 gallons, so that's about 32mpg for my v6 which I believe is rated for 26mpg hwy. I'm not sure how it does it, but I love it!

It's all in the operator. My last tank in my '08 LE V6 gave me 29.6MPG (calculated, no trip computer), mixed city and highway. The lowest I've ever seen, in all rush hour and driving very hard, was 23.2.

Did you cherry pick this gas mileage figure?

Since the tank is way above the full line it looks like you just filled up, therefore your trip must not have been going all that long before you snapped the pic.

I guess I'm curious if this # represents a small portion of your trip at ~ 65MPH with the unit reset to see the highest # you could get?

I know our highander goes to 100MPG if I let off the gas pedal while driving down the hwy

For what it is worth imageshack is a better image hosting than that site you are using which spams the clicker with pics.

ah... I just also noticed you have I4 in your sig. That might help over the V6 owners

My '02 4 cylinder got 33 mpg from Birmingham to Gatlinburg, TN (~350 miles) over the weekend. It has a 15.4 us gallon gas tank, and I didn't have to fill up until we left on Sunday morning.

I4 yes, odometer was set to zero at start after fill up just north of Austin.
I really can't think of any reason why I would want to fabricate this.

The funny part of it is, on the way back I set the cruise at 60mpg to see how much better it would do and it actually got 35mpg. I'm guessing there must have been a south wind that aided going up and had to go against heading back down.
