Exclamation Brake Squeal..Ongoing...HELP!

i have a high pitched metal on metal sounding break squeal with my 2007 toyota camry le 4cylinder with approximately 27,500 miles. I have had it into the dealer twice. 1st vist they replaced ther rear break shims, the second visit they replaced the rears again and also the front shims. They stated they did not know why it was squealing but that the TSB said to replace teh shims. This has not corrected the problem and they are at a loss...as am I. Please any feedback on fixes or issues is very appreicated!!!!

Thank you!

Good for you njerald, good for you. For the OP, if you're hearing metal to metal, obviously something is rubbing and it is leaving evidence, so...
-figure out where the sound is coming from. You think the rear, but make certain.
-determine WHEN it happens. Any time the wheel turns? Only when you apply the brakes?
-once you have localized the issue, raise the car up, block it so it won't go anywhere and not hurt you, spin the tire to see if you can get any sound. Have a friend to apply a little brake and again try to spin the wheel, looking for the sound.
-when you have the right one, pull the tire and wheel and start looking for the obvious abrasion that would result from the metal to metal grinding.
-fix it

Go to a different dealer if you cannot/do not want to investigate the noise yourself.

If it's as bad as you say, it s/b easy to diagnose/fix.

Pull the pads and look for cracks in the pads. These heat cracks cause squealing. All the shims in the world won't stop the noise if the pads are no good. There might be good amount of lining but if they assume they are ok and don't look at them, the problem won't be solved.
