Gen6 Installed Apexcone 6000K HID Kit on 2007 Camry LE - Photos and Video

I installed the Apexcone 6000K HID kit I got yesterday into my 07 Camry LE. The 2007-2009 Camrys use H11 size bulbs for those of you without HIDs who are wondering.

Wanted to make a thread with photos and video of the kit as a reference/informational tool for those who are looking to get HIDs on their own Camrys, because I used to search all over for threads like this before I finally got my own kit.

-------

Video of Camry with HIDs (I recommend clicking on "watch in high quality" for best viewing experience)
Note: The lights look bluer in the video than they are in real life, especially when they first turn on.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk4Eh8w_1P0

For full set of photos at full resolution, check out my flickr photoset at http://www.flickr.com/photos/1114008...913209/detail/

Photos of the Apexcone HID Kit

After opening the box. Got 4 of them shipped together, only used one obviously, the other 3 were for someone else

Individual kit box opened

The two ballasts

The bulbs themselves and wiring harness

The whole kit with basic install instructions included

Now for the pics of the car itself...

Original Philips H11 bulb in my Camry before installing HID

6000K HID installed, still daylight outside so a little hard to see

Other headlight with 6000K HID installed

Hope someone finds this thread useful!

just so that you dont know need to read the whole crazy thread or look for it, in side the hole where u put the bulb in is a little piece of metal that reflects lights up, bend that down with ur finger ASAP. if u cant use ur finger be creative. theres more detail in the thread so yeah just a generalization of what your gonna have to do

So the squirrel spotters are inside where the bulbs go?

I was actually planning on covering up the squirrel spotters once I figured out for sure how to approach the fix and read up enough on the thread to know what I was doing.

Did you have to buy the HID Accessory Harness or the Warning Code Eliminator and we need the 55w right?? How much did you pay for yours? is $140 a good price?

The kit comes with everything you need.

A 35watt HID is brighter than the stock 55w Philips bulb that comes with the Camry.

I just got a 35 watt kit, but you can get the 55w if you want it to be really bright.

$140 is a good price, that's what Mod-Xpress is offering it for. But the site you linked to has it for $95 + shipping.

do a search on this Gen6 forum. you guys will find a wealth of information.

no need to get 55w HID. stick with the 35w. you're wasting your money if you get the 55w.

Omer,

Thanks for the help. It is 95 for the kit, but the extra was for the 55w, but since i don't need it 95 is a steal. I went out and looked at the squirrel spotters today. I had to use my wife's makeup mirror to see it though ) I felt like a dork standing out there with a compact looking into my headlights. Thanks again.

How do you guys feel about the 3000K color? I think 95 +s/h is a good deal... but i'm indecisive on what color i currently have yellow bulbs on my camry and they look pretty nice... I think it would look even better if they were HID's...any opinion?

3000K will look yellow. I would suggest 4500K or higher. Most companies temp. rating are silmilar:

Yes I think they will look good depending what type of rims and accessories you have. I personally would rather have optimal light output, so my choice would be 4500K.

Eric.
