Gen6 proper tire pressure for 225/40-19???

Nobody seems to go in the tire section so I figured I'll post here.
What is the proper tire pressure for 225/40-19? I have mine inflated at 40psi and it rides bumpy. Any help will be appreciated...Thanks!

33psi to 35psi should be good for most standard car tires.

Yeah.. 40 is a bit high. I run 35 now for gas mileage but if we get snow (hey... it could happen !) in the winter I take it down to 30.

Snow bring pot hole and 30 might be too soft that it could jam into your rim. To make it worse, when U park your car the tire will get cold and decrease it farther.

U do 33psi all year long.

the tire should have a range of acceptable pressures on the side of the tire... after that it's preference...

I think all they do is have the Max PSI... I am not sure about the Min PSI. But anyway.. best pressure for every day driver is of cause will get the max miles/control/stability/etc out of the tire.. and that pressure is for most car around 33psi.

Thanks for all your replies.
I guess there is not really a rule/guidelines regarding tire pressure if you go plus sizes with aftermarket wheels. attached pics of my rim and tire. Thanks to avholic, lammydi, mistabullet and fellow TN members who patiently resplied to all my questions.
