5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I just purchased an 09 Camry XLE V6. The factory stereo is a JBL head unit w/6 disc changer. This car did not come with satellite radio however the salesperson mentioned there is a module to install for the SAT button activiation on the head unit. Is this something I can purchase, if so, what? Is this something I can install, if so, how? Many thanks for any help!!!!!
You can buy the sat radio package (XM or Sirius) from Toyota and let them install it. They quote around $500 installed. Or you can buy the same or any other aftermarket unit (like from Terk) and install it by yourself or any other audio shop. You just need the receiver, antenna, harness and some misc. The JBL headunit is already prepared for the hookup.
PS: I am considering to take my Sirius out....in case you want Sirius.
I had my dealership install the XM package, it cost $480 total. The controls integrate seamlessly into the JBL audio system and I have been extremely happy with the XM service. I would recommend Sat radio.
wow i paid 99 for my terk set up.. looks just like stock. all the buttoms on the steerin wheel works
install is easy.
