Tools needed for HID install

Hey guys I am about to buy a 4300k HID kit from xenon depot for a 2009 SE and was wondering what tools are needed for the install. Thanks. Also, I need to get the 9005 right?

You'll need the H11 for the low beam headlamp...as for the tools nothing special screwdriver, socket wrench set...maybe a chainsaw, jack hammer...if things get out of hand...

But also consider getting some JB Weld to cover up the squirrel spotters...

Yep. The h11 is what you want.
Just keep the 9005 halogen.

Most people drive with low beam. Only the stupid 1 drive with high beam and when ppl flash them they can't figure it out either. I wonder if U get in accident due to them blinding you.. could you bring them to court.

Anyway.. I did order the 4300K and I find it too yellow. So I ordered the 5000K bulbs. You might want a plier too to pull those nylon tie wraps. Also you need to run a cable from the right headlight over to the battery. The wiring can be a little confusing.

For me, I open the entire front face+bumper to place all the HID components. I spent about half a day doing it. Also found a huge rested nail jabbed into my radiator grill. I'm just glade it didn't go into the tire. LOL

I mounted mine to the end of the frame rails behind the bumper.

+1... behind bumper.. so need to remove the bumper to get to it. And since Gen6, the front face is part of the bumper too, so that entire piece comes out. It's like a mask.

I was looking for mounting locations and it doesnt appear that i need to remove the bumper to put the ballast on the frame rail. Any pics?

I've been lazy and when I install hid kits, I mount the ballast right above the fender.

I was putting fogs in at the same time so it was easier to just remove the bumper. It only takes 10-15 minutes and makes the install much easier. I was able to remove my headlight housings to cover the squirrel spotters.
