5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I took some more pics of my 2007 Camry SE. Although the chrome door pillars and handles are probably on the way out, they'll stay for now.
As of today, the Camry has 18" TRD wheels w/Michelin Pilot HX tires, TRD springs and a TRD air filter. The windows are tinted, it has the JBL stereo and woodgrain interior.
Adding to my "smacks of cheapness" comment, I'm not digging the wood "trim".
But hey it's your car so what I really think doesn't matter anyways. Personally I would never buy a car with aftermarket chrome pillars and stick on wood trim.
I don't know if the pics do it justice but I compared my interior to my friend's Lexus and it looks as factory as his does. I don't think it looks "cheap" at all. I agree that the pillars are horrid and as soon as I can figure out a way to get them off without destroying the factory pillars underneath, they're history.
The chrome pillars are gone. It went alot easier than I thought. Its hot out, which helps, and I pulled them off slowly. WD40 took care of what adhesive was left. The chrome door handles don't look as gaudy now but I may remove those too.
Yep, it looks a LOT better without the chrome pillars.
I like the chrome door handles and would keep them.
Too late. I had nothing going on this afternoon and I just couldn't take it anymore. I do have to get a better camera. All of the pics were taken with my cell phone. I washed, clayed and waxed the car yesterday and it's shining like a friggin mirror. An earlier poster asked about the tint. Its 45% in the front and 35% in the back. Massachusetts has a law for a law so we have to be very conservative when it comes to modding. I even had to dremel some of the TRD plate frame because it partially covered the "Massachusetts" on the license plate. I work overnight so I don't need the hassle of the State police pulling me over on the way to work.
