Poor service experience on 07 camry at Toyota of San Bernardino
Hi everyone,
I recently took my 07 camry to Toyota of San Bernardino. I wanted the latest update on the hesitation issue, had a dash rattle and lastly, had warped rotors. The service advisor was a very unprofessional. When I told him the symptom of the brakes, he immediatley stated "it is wear and tear" you need a brake job, that is a $50 inspection and if you want it done, we will apply it to the job, but if not, than thats that. If there is another issue we will discuss it. If it is warped rotors then youll need a service". So I asked him why would I pay you $50 to tell me I have warped rotors ? He did not give me an answer except that I could talk to his service manager who I spoke to and he said the same thing. When I had inspected the brakes, I saw lots of pad life so I felt the pads being so "new", the rotors should be fine or covered under warranty. So anyways, I called corporate who basically told me they would call the dealer and work something out. The dealer called me an offered me a discounted price on a brake service at 199 bucks. I told them I will not pay for a brake service and that was that. I went to Crown an Ontario same week, they resurfaced the rotors for me under warranty. Toy of San bernardino also did not fix the rattle properly, I still hear it. Anyways, was this an isolated incident or are there others who have had poor service experience there?? I know I am not going back there.

lol perhaps try a bigger and better off dealership.
i purchased my camry from toyota of san bernardino off a broker who told me they had the cheapest ones. maybe cause their not doing so well... their stingy? hahaha. I got my tsbs done in puente hills toyota, who are known for not budging on their car prices cause they are doing well. pretty willing to do basic jobs for me and stuff.

The dealership is quite unpleasant overall as an experience goes, however I went there since the car was purchased there and the selling dealer is usually more likely to take care of their customers on "borderline" issues....they are not a reputable dealer as far as service goes...

Some dealers have tha same problem, arrogant service advisors, they were just pretending they know what they're doing.
I got an argument with one of them (Toyota Simi Valley) regarding my DRL (I want to disable it). He refused to touch it because I changed the bulbs to PIAA, he said it voids the warranty or something, and refused to do it.
Then things got ugly, I yelled at his face the whole time, I said something like: "I will pay the damn labor cost, what the hell is wrong with you? This is my damn car! I can do whatever I want with it!"
He finally did take it in to do the job (I paid $100 for it), and followed my car to the bay until the tech guys take over, I want to make sure that they don't do anything stupid to it. It took them almost 3 hrs just to disable it... So unprofessional.
The second time I came back for an oil change, that service advisor guy was not there anymore, I think he got fired, because of too many arguments with customers...
You can take it to Claremont Toyota or Tustin Toyota. Both I had really good service from.
If you take it to Claremont, ask for Tony. When I had rat problem eating my car, Tony took care of the entire process, even worked with my insurance company directly. All I had to do is drop off the car.
Same thing with the Wondries Toyota in Alhambra. Everything is "wear and tear" for them. They will charge $50 for find out the issue in the TSB also. Totally disappointed.
In LA, try Longo or the others suggested. In the IE, I like Crown in Ontario.

Brake lights aren't broken, I just don't brake.
--Can honestly go to a parts counter and ask for brake shoes for the front brakes.
--Likes long walks on the beach.... once it's lit by a massive bonfire.
Lets keep adding to this, the service advisor pissed me off, this thread will be emailed to the dealership so they can see what one arrogant advisor can cost them.....like they lose anything when they chalk it off to warranty repair.....WTF, am I missing something?

Guess i should add my review of Northride of Toyota. Good thing is they are professionals. Did exactly what i asked them and no issue at all. Bad thing is they only got shuttle one way. So if you need to leave your car at dealership, they will get you home but coming back to pick up the car is your problem. Also they are really busy, as such an appointment is needed unless you willing to wait for it to take longer. They will be able to do it but it will take longer for sure.
i give Valley High Toyota here in Victorville a they have always been good to us. My girl has taken her car in there for everything and never had a problem. no rip offs and nothing that she doesnt need. we also only deal with a guy named Andy. i believe he is a lead tech.
