Just lookin for help on simple upgrades and possibly F/I on 07 camry
as the title indicates , im lookin for help from toyota camry owners on simple upgrades(CAI, Exhaust, Header) and also the possibility of turbo MAYBE just tossin the idea around ,but what i need are help from ppl who have owned the newer gen toyota for a lil bit and dealt with problems and so on with the car ... i dont need any bashin bc i mentioned turbo as ive seen in some other threads just advice bc the turbo would not be for racing as this camry is my wifes car and THE i4s in the car SUCKS BALLS.

If it were me I would just trade the car for a V6 model. You will never get 268 HP out of the 4 no matter how much money you waste on it. Put the money down on the V6. That's just my 2 cents.

first off, your "no matter how much money " statement shouldve been thought through a lil better , reason being , i could put ALOT of money into her car and make it one of the meanest v8killers around , however, that isnt my goal.. i just want better pickup for interstate use and response once i tap the pedal - i never said anything about trying to get 268hp out of it either i actually never even said i had a goal of gettin any certain hp out of it . my car is the one to have fun in and thats all i need .- im looking for those you have actual suggestions on improving this i4 and no closeminded ppl who just think you should swap for a v6 , thank you

You asked for advice and you got legitimate, learned advice from experienced owners. Your response to that assistance suggests that you could be an idiot.

wait, so your saying learned advice is trading in a car for one with a bigger engine ?? wow , and im the one being called an idiot. that just means ppl must be lazy and not want to mess with the cars too much .. all i was lookin for were upgrades from ppl that had already dont them or even places where to find upgrades - as i am new to this car and trying to gain a lil knowledge from multiple sources in one place rather than knowledge from multiple places but i guess thats what im gonna have to do since these cars seem to be only for ppl that want to do cosmetic mods and no performance awesome appreciate the help
thank you very very much this is some actual stuff worth reading instead of ppl telling me to trade in the current one for a v6 one which makes no sense lol
I have an 08 SE I4 Manual. I added a K&N Typhoon and am looking for an exhaust now. The Typhoon alone actually gives it a little more pop getting on the highway and a noticeable difference in 2nd gear especially! Its still not a rocket, may try so other stuff, but I also didnt want to have to run premium fuel like the V-6 so I am happy to stay with the I4.
People who say they only move is to buy the V-6 miss the point of this question. There is a reason I went with the I4 over the V-6 (Gas, Insurance, parts, etc!!) and wanting to get the most out of the engine I chose does not mean I want the expense or size of a different engine!

yeah , i hear ya man , ive got my car and i have to run premium but its also supercharged so its alil different .... well, i appreciate the help with what you have - about the exhaust , the good thing about where i live is we have an excellent custom exhaust shop and he can bend pipes anyway you need him to, ive had him do two cars (my current one and my first car) both of which lasted years before any welds started leaking , actually on my current car ive had the exhaust on for about 2years or more and no welds have leaked yet so its alot better than bolt-on exhausts IMO just bc u dont have to change out the gaskets but im gonna look into that intake

You have this on your I-4 Gen 6? Single tip or dual? Any sound clips? Would he be able to make another one off of yours and ship it out to me?

Na, i dont have one on the camry , the camry is my wife's car , mine is an 04 supercharged tiburon - once i get home from iraq however, im gonna get an exhaust put on her car and go from there .. this is to give me a headstart for other mods i might do and to give me a little more insight on product availability as i said, i am new to the newer gen camrys
Thats a pretty uneducated response. TC's make amazing hp at even 7psi. Hell, my SVT Focus made well over 300hp and I was shy on .4 liters.
I am going to begin R&D on a turbo system for my V6 Camry soon. My biggest hang up is tuning. I want to have a system that works with the OEM ECU. I'd like to see a company produce a reflash such as Diablo Predator for Ford, or AccessPort by COBB.
...so yeah, thats a pretty dumb statement above considering hondas make 500+ Hp from 1.6's.

my v6 runs on regular, not premium. its in the owners manual & the tech at toyota said the same thing. the savings in gas between an i4 & v6 is not a big difference imo. i'm happy i got the stronger engine. as far as insurance wise i dont think it affects prices if u have a v6 vs an i4
