I have searched through the forum and no one seems to have this issue. I have a 2003 Toyota Camry 4 Cylinder. I am the sole and single owner. I had the engine replaced with a 2004 Camry engine due to oil sludge. This issue has persisted through both engines.
Occasionally my car will whistle.
- It is brief and goes from a low pitch to a higher pitch.
- It is loud inside the car, but barely audible outside with the hood up
- It only happens the moment the compressor is engaged (or disengaged?)
- Never happens when the AC is off.
- If I turn off the AC or the car, after some use of the AC, the whistle is extended and sloooowly raises in pitch till it stops
- Happens a lot more when I idle.
Any ideas? I am totally taking this to CarTalk just to give Click and Clack something to laugh about if it isn't a common issue.
Your help is appreciated.
On an a side note. I tried to access the repair manuals... no luck from the sticky posts. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
