Is there a BG code that'll be given to us that w e can apply during Ebay checkout? If yes, and if this GB will be within the next 3 days, then count me in.
BTW, thanks for putting in the effort for setting up a GB and providing info!
Best way would be to buy from eBay and email seller and mention karamanos' name to get discount. Seller will than send you updated invoice with discount so you can pay. If its Immediate Payment type auction, email seller before hand and inform him that you want the discount and that you're paying. Once you pay, seller should refund you the difference.
Ok Anyone else for a group buy. Remember guys the sooner the better especially with turn around time for item. It will be shipping from overseas. I am trying to get this finished by this week myself because I am going away friday to monday. Also seller noted the quicker the better. I could really care less about what he says, I just don't feel like dragging this for months on one single group buy.
So far group buy is: We need 10 to get this to go. Please specify with maps or without maps.

Probably a good thing you didn't buy the TV antenna since in Feburary 2009 TV signals will be digital. My friend's Pioneer TV tuner will be worth nothing by then, a point I like to remind him when he's having a bad day
$719 without maps shipped. (remember you can load your own maps)
The seller is going to email me the item number of the private listings of the unit based on those prices. He should have 2 items. One with maps and one without maps at the Buy it now group buy price. I will pm the item number to each of those in the group buy so they can enter the auction. I will email/contact him with your name so he knows who you are.

So for around $700 a non-JBL owner has a choice between a God knows where it was made in China from God knows who headunit that looks exactly like a stock camry radio vs a unit from an established car audio brand that looks like any other unit you can find at any reputable car stereo store.
I would rather take my chances on a Kenwood or Pioneer starter navigation unit for the same price ($700-$900). But that's just me...personally I don't care if it looks like the stock OEM system; it's still not a Denso Toyota navigation unit.
any more takers on the group buy. For the three that are in or thinking of going in, I will try and email the seller to see if I can just get you guys the group buy price since no one else seems to really want to partake.
Please advise if you are still in

Thanks for the opinion. No offense taken. I/We never said it was the stock unit or compared it to the stock denso unit. We are just posting information on another aftermarket navigation that I am trying to help others out with a group buy. If I wanted oem denso navigation, I would have gotten it but I didn't want to spend that kind of money. i took a chance and I got this unit and wrote a review. Same as Djkor. We have addressed the issues with it and what we do and don't like about it.

I'm def still in. With maps, I'm traveling the next 5 day on little vacation. I'll try get back on before then if the laptop has access.
I will still try to get the group buy rate for you guys but I can't believe we can't 10 people for this.
Because either people already have a portable GPS, dont need it, or already have a factory Nav system. And probably because people prefer to stick with well known name brands instead of a product coming from overseas.
Not to mention, not everyone has $700-800 to throw down within a weeks time. If you look at other group buys, they were priced between $100-$200 which is a lot more affordable than $700-800. 3 people would of been more reasonable.

Yeah I figured that but maybe I was just assuming that more people can afford it. No biggie. Oh trust me don't think I didn't try for like 2 people for the GB, I emailed him again lowering the number. I thought we had 4 but two backed down so that leaves us back to two. We shall see. Thanks for the support at least.
With a situation like this, it's all about taking the chance and buying it if you're willing. I understand where you are coming from, but if I was going to spend a really long time considering whether or not this unit will do, I may as well just go out and buy a more expensive unit if I'm that concerned. I was seriously considering this unit a few months ago, but as I left it longer and longer, I just learnt to live without it. If it wasn't for my friends buying it for me as a gift, I still wouldn't have it.
It's like upgrading a piece of electronic equipment. If you aren't going to bother updating now, you may as well forget about it. You'll just keep thinking the same thing again and again. Otherwise, if you are going to wait, just save up some extra dollars and buy a flashier unit instead. Just how I think anyways.
Quite a few of us over here have the same unit installed. Longest length of time that someone there has had theirs so far is two months (mine is one month old). So far there has been no mention of anyones unit breaking.
Sure, I believe it to be taking a chance, but I like to think I spend my money wisely and maybe it's a big over cautious, hell even frugal at that, to be considering a 700-900 purchase for an electronic that operates in a vehicle. I can buy a nice LCD for that money. So yea, maybe I'm not as financially free as you, but that doesn't mean I don't have nice things. I like to believe that the money I earn goes towards a product that fits my specifications. Please don't make this sound like I have done zero research on the unit, there is already a thread as I posted earlier that dates further back then the forum topic you posted. see below
I tried to be nice about it and I understand you are trying to provide a service to our community, but you should really understand that you are susceptible to a few generalizations yourself.
First off, who are you two? Granted I haven't been posting much here, but to come back to find new comers ranting and raving about this awesome new product that they have (granted the concept is GREAT!) and offering up "GROUP BUYS" from an ebay seller nonetheless?
Next thing, I believe in the rules you need to be a sponsor on TN in order to start setting up group buys, there's no middle men thing going on here.
And because this sounds like an acting liaison, how the hell do I not know that this ebay seller is indeed you trying to unload stock of a product that isn't selling?
Ok benefit of the doubt, I get it. Then again, BUYER BEWARE...so yea before you tell me about how I make purchasing decisions about electronics, maybe you need to educate yourself about who you are addressing here because my mom is certainly not sending paypal payments of 700-1000 to someone on ebay. I'd prefer to deal direct with a company like crutchfield for that money, at least I have some reassurance from a reputable company.
