Actually the tint is supposed to be 70%. It was dealer doneand in NY the law is 70%. When I went to get it done, I wanted to show the guy who was doing it my 99 Z-34 Monte with 35% on it so he could tell me how much difference the legal tint would be. He said it would be almost like the 35%. So he did it. It is pretty dark, either he made it darker or that;s 70%. I didn;t sign any waivers for illegal tint, so whatever. You can't really see the people when they are in there so I'm happy either way.
Uhhhh...by law, tints are suppose to allow 70% of light, in NY that is. So you can have your tints at 30% Anything less than that can get you a ticket if you have an a-hole cop.
If tints are 70%, you wouldnt even be able to see a difference.
I went round and round with the tint guy and the dealership on this. I didn;t want tint that wasn't dark enough. The guy saw my Monte's 35, agreed it was 35, told me the Camry would be slightly lighter. I said OK, it looks like the 35 but the dealer said it was legal tint. So whatever it is, it is.
Hi, I bought a new 2009 Camry a month back and I am facing the following problems.
a little or slight jerk when the gear moves from first to 2nd gear. (I was told i won't even know that the gear is changing, the transmission would be very smooth).
Sometimes when i go beyond the speed of 40 (say 42 to 43), and then slow down to just below 40, i feel some kind of vibration. (it does not happen all the time but sometimes.
the cruise control is not very smooth. I started using the cruise function after i did around 1200 miles on the car, while climbing up inclinations the rpm rises abruptly to climb the hill. while the rpm rises there is a little jerk (i believe thats because the transmission moves into lower gear and rpm rises and after the inclination is over the rpm becomes normal). Is this normal?
The car is very smooth while going above 55 miles, its very smooth in speeds over 85 to 90 Miles as well.
Please let me know if these are serious issues? I am very much worried about this.
Thanks. What do you guy's think of the wheels? I didn;t want the 5 spoke alloys, so I opted for these. They came in a package with the lip spoiler, exhaust tip, carpets and VSC.

Mine is a 4 cylinder Automatic 2009 Camry.
Please advice.
Get this TSB done at your dealer for your shifting/vibration problems.
Hey Camry09 got similar issue. Cruise set to 65, go down hill runs up to 70-75, wont slow automatically.
Oh and cruise down shifts when going up hill causing head to roll into backseat is normal with Toyota. 06 Corola, 07 Matrix, 06 Tacoma and 08 Tacoma all do it. HATE IT. Have other veh that keep speed smooth up hill. 04 Mazda B3000 worst in the world for whiplash.
