Well, the STi is a huge step-up from the regular WRX.
If priced competitively with after-market upgrades and you save money by doing the labor yourself, you never know...

Not bad. I have raced an ~05 WRX and barely beat it when I had tires that were almost completely worn out. My guess is that I would have been a little farther ahead if I had a better launch.

Car and Driver has a history of ridiculous comparisons and this is just one of them.
The WRX is still a better platform for tuning and offers way more potential for huge power gains.

yes but the camry does have the edge on the stealth and value end....the subie is def a better tuning platform (duh)
props to the camry for edging out the subie in the 1/4 mile

I'm surprised that that C & D got the Camry to do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds. Even Toyota's own website said the best is 6.5 sec with a little demo that you could try yourself.

which website, toyota.com? i didn't know they published acceleration times.....
although in the tundra brochure, they mention under 6 sec 0-60 time for a reg cab 4x2 w/the 5.7

I've surprised more than a few people coming from a light or pulling away from the tool booth.
