No chrome rims from the factory?

Is there a reason that Toyota does not put on Chrome rims on a Camry from the factory? mainly the XLE or SE model. Do they cost much more than the alloy wheels that they use now?

Yes, it costs more to add chrome to alloy than not too.

Because most people aren't into the homie-g look of ugly chrome wheels. And Toyota therefore tries to cater to the majority.

There are several reasons. You may not actually know this but most toyota wheels dont come in chrome at all....you will see them chromed because they are chromed locally. In fact I cant think of one recent model with OEM chrome wheel option. These are dealer added items at big mark-up. The wheels typically cost the dealer about $500 with core exchange and they swap tires and pressure sensors and add $1000-2000 to the price of the car on the window. Lastly, chrome does have issues in snow conditions where road salt and debris can quickly harm the finish and make it a huge warranty issue. BTW PM me for chrome wheels LOL

If they are durable enough for Lexus then why not Toyota? Many Chryslers and Chevys have them from the factory.

You would think it would at least be a dealer option (maybe TRD) on the SE model. Might be the cost or they may not think enough folks would want them to justify a different model wheel. Or it could be their way of saying.. hey, if you want chorme.. buy a Lexus, Toyota is our lower end brand.

Probably because chrome wheels are tacky and ghey...but that's just my opinion.

Toyota racing development would not offer a chrome wheel. If any model had a chance of a chrome wheel it would be the XLE not the SE.

Toyota has lexus for a reason, and i think the chrome wheels should be left for the them.

Chrome wheels cost more to produce and as soon as some idiot gets a little rust on his or her wheels(because they didn't take care of them) they'll want Toyota to be responsible.
