5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
my buddy just got his tundra supercharged over at twinz turbo in long beach,ca. he mentioned to me that they where working on a camry v6 so he asked what they where doing to da car and they told him dat they was building a harness for the new trd supercharger.u guys heard anything bout this?
IMHO a waste of time and money for what specific purpose exactly? You car your mods but strictly from a practical purpose I don't see it. Are you going to take your car to the track? Or are you gonna be like the thousands of lemmings out in SoCal driving around with a inflated sense of pride popping your hood open two days a month on message forum meets or even worse are you going to do be just another douche on the 405 picking fights with cars to the danger of other motorists?
You're going to have to work a lot more shifts at Pep Boys to pay for a supercharger. $4000K plus probably. I used to be like that back in high school. Thank God/Allah/Buddah/Tom Cruise I grew out of that phase.

Hot Import Nights FTW !
You're kidding right? You must be... I just sense someone sitting at home, bored, looking to pick an internet fight.
First, it is that kind of attitude that ensures that the Camry gets no support. What the hell do you care if I want/get a supercharger in my car? Why did you "waste your money" on the V6 when the four cylinder would have worked out just fine? You seriously need to get out of SoCal and see what other people who are into cars are doing (what the hell does HIN have to do with adding a supercharger... Toyota has one for most of their SUV/truck line... not too many of those at HIN). Will I track it? Actually I've considered it. Will I show it off? Maybe, but what do you care?
All I know is TRD has made a supercharger for this car already yet refuses to release it here, and that sh*tty attitude doesn't help.
To the OP, keep those of us who have $4K to spend in the loop on this, I am very interested.
Pep Boys? Try private practice.

Let's see where do I start...
1. It's his car, so he can do what he wants, as I explicitly stated.
2. So if Toyota makes a supercharger for it's SUVs, then they should make one for the Camry? Explain that logic to me.
3. I have no problem with personal choice. Thus I got the V6. As well as you maybe showing your car. What you do in your free time is your business. I on the other hand got out of that phase and invested whatever I would have spent on my car into more important things like a house and an IRA.
4. You're not Korean, so I can understand how you can't see I live in COLORADO now, but I am well aware of the Southern California life.
5. The kid works for Pep Boys, hense the reference. I don't give a rat's ass what you do for a living, just as you probably don't care what I do (I work for Janus...not that you care)
If you don't like my opinion, no prob. When you took my reply to another poster personally, that smacks of a very small man so who's the one trying to pick a fight?
Me (and evidently others) who don't pester TRD into releasing or making a supercharger is THE reason why there isn't one.
Hilarious. Maybe instead of getting your panties up in a bunch over my opinions you should take out your cyberspace anger out at the beancounters at Toyota/TRD, who to this day probably see no financial upside into make one...or maybe they do it to piss people off.
Does anyone know if the Aurion's S/C can fit on the new V6 Camrys? It looks like the motors are the exact same, but the engine bays might differ.
It looks like the Aurion, which essentially is a Camry (same motor, same transmission) gets from 0-60 in 6.1 sec which isn't a huge improvement over the Camry's 6.5 seconds. It does have a ton of power though at 329HP.

D-U-M-B-@-$-$
You did state IMHO. Given.
You then go on to use the word "you" in the rest of your "opinion". That's a lot of fingerpointing and attempts at being derogatory. You insult a member of this forum who wants the supercharger (I believe "douche" was one of your terms). How is that not personal? And you think others on this forum should be okay with that attitude?
It reminds me of Talladega Nights... "But I said with all due respect!"
It's a problem because this forum should be supportive of what people want to do with their car. That's how other dedicated car forums seem to run. And forum support DOES matter when it comes to getting parts for cars and support from the companies.
You don't have to like what others do to their car, but there should be some decorum without resorting to insults (which is all your "opinion" is). I called you out on your poor attitude (not your opinion), that's all.

To the best of my understanding, it's the same engine, so the supercharger should fit our Camry fine. As for the numbers, I think they are conservative for our V6... my guess is it's the same for the supercharged Aurion.
