Power door locks working intermittenly

On my 2003 Camry LE, sometimes (most of the time) I can get all the doors unlocked with two "presses" of the remote door unlock and sometimes only the driver side door unlocks. This is also the case with the unlock button inside the car and also using the key.

Is there a relay or something that could be bad that I need to change?

Have you tried Googling? I know there are websites with some pretty detailed information on the Camry. You should be able to find what you're looking for - whether or not there's some kind of relay that you should be checking. Good luck.

First off, snapping at us isn't going to give us the incentive to even begin helping you. Second, u need to give us more info. I4 of V6? does it have an alarm? If so, is it stock or aftermarket? If u press the button a third time, will they then all unlock? also, did u ever change the FOB's battery? if not check that. Eliminate the simplest first.

How lame can you get? This is Toyota Nation, NOT 'do all the work for me, I'll just sit here and wait for the answers to fall into my lap' - God forbid you try and solve your own problems.

Get a grip buddy

please don't snap at other members.

I'm just wondering, what do you mean its the same case from inside the car? Inside the car, you just click unlock once and it unlocks all doors... Please give us more info.

Welcome to TN.

If it seemed as though I was "snapping" I apologize. I just find it hard to believe that a member would actual send me to Google or "other" websites for help. And just a word to islandboy57, forums are for helping. Normally we try to find the answer, then resort to a forum when we can't. If forums weren't for helping, Toyota Nation would have no members. I own a forum by the way and would never tell someone to Google for answers. I try to help them.

Anyway.....

When I hit the remote button twice (or three times) still only the driver's side door unlocks. This doesn't happen all the time but most times it does. As for the button inside the car, when the locks don't function properly, still only the driver's side door unlocks. This rules out the remote battery. But it's worth noting that you can hear all the locks "try" to open (a clicking sound) when you hit the remote button a second time or when you use the unlock on the inside of the car.

BTW, the car is a 2003 Toyota Camry LE, I4, no alarm, bone stock.

Thanks for any help you can provide. I searched the forum extensively before asking and didn't see a similar situation.

Yes I can. Manually unlocking always works, driver's side unlocking with remote or inside button always works. The other three locks are intermitten although you can hear a "click" when trying to unlock regardless of using remote unlock or inside button.

thats odd. The reason i asked was because, if u heard the clicking, i thaught they might be forced to stay locked. Is it the same kind of click you would get as if u were to lock the doors twice? like locking them when their already locked? I would take it to the dealer if i were you.

Yes, it is very similar to the sound when you lock the doors but they are already locked. A dealer is my last option since I am quite a ways away from one. Hopefully someone will have some insight. I doubt this is an isolated incident. I appreciate the help, Camralon!

to be honest, the dealership is probably your last option... But it'll cost you so much. Some dealerships charge you a service fee just to look at your car...

If anything, they'll change out the whole unit. I don't know how much that is though... Maybe a local mechanic will have the same luck? I'm sure they'll have the same knowledge about the locks. Its pretty basic..

This system runs all controls through the multiplex communication computer making it much more difficult to diagnose.

Might be a remote control programming or a wiring issue.

Does your owners manual have anything on programming the remote?
