Gen6 Buying Wheels + Tires Online

If you buy a wheel package online, does that include the TPMS?

Right now I'm looking at these at www.discounttiredirect.com:

Wheels: TSW Vortex 18X8 5-114.3 40HS

Tires: Falken FK 452 225/45R-18 95Y BSW

The OTD price is $1618.96 including everything (wheel locks, balancing, valve stems, shipping). Good deal for TSW?

Now the only thing that bugs me is the TPMS, do I have to move the old ones to the new wheels? How does that work?

I doubt that the TPMS sensors are included. Usually online places are cheaper than factory. I bought my rims at wheelsnext where they wanted an extra $350 for TPMS. And if you want tpms you would need to swap them out from your factory rims.

So that means I don't need to pay extra for the balancing and etc. right? Since I'll be doing the installation myself?

And another Q's, which tires do you think will fit best, with the smallest wheel gap without lowering it?

225/50R-18

OR:
225/45R-18
235/45R-18

I saw Rocketace's TCH with 225/50R/18.

EDIT: If I choose to swap the old TPMS, do I need to reprogram it again?

U can ask them yourself http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/sh...d.php?t=248655

But I don't think that TPMS is included. Didn't they give you the option to add it?

If you have TPMS..you'll need to take them out of your old wheels and have them put into the new ones. So no point in having tires balanced. Tire shop is just going to deflate the tires in order to insert the original TPMS.

Also, the TPMS is programmed to work with your car. Getting a TPMS from another company will not work with your car and you'll probably have an external display for it instead of in the car. If they can sell you the wheels and rims without it mounted or inflated with air, that would be good. Like I said, its going to be deflated and unmounted to add the original TPMS and than mounted, inflated and balanced again.

You still need to pay for balance. Whenever a tire mounted to the rim, it will have to be balance.
Between the 3 choices 225-45-18, 235-45-18 and 225-50-18.
I had all 3 sizes on my car before and currently have 225-50-18.
The 225-50-18 will give you more comfort (bigger sidewall) and will shorten the wheel gap (bigger overall diameter) BUT it will make your rims appear smaller.
I like the 235-45-18 because it is the best of both worlds.
- There is no need to reprogram the old TPMS if you swap them.

Yes, it is Flopshot. He has 235-50-18. But he still on stock springs and the specs of his GS rims is 18x8 +45 offset so he got some rooms to play.

You mean 225/50/18 right (like Lammy's)? Because I don't see 235/50/18 on the website (only 17"). Or maybe they don't have it for the 18".

Another Q's, if I do lower it and get the 225/50/18, will it rub when carrying 5 people?

That is not correct. Their are many suppliers for fitting TPMS for our camry's - just need to re-initialize them. If you buy from a good online store, they also provide the TPMS info (code #) that your local shop can initialize them.

Ah ok. Didnt know there were universal ones. The ones I usually see have the TPMS and a little LCD screen.

The little screen units are made for cars who do not have OEM TPMS. Would not waist my money on that upgrade though...
