5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am running 20x8 wheels on 245/35/20 tires on my 2007 SE. Still on the stock ride height. Visually, looks fine. But, I know lowering the car would set it off and give me little performance gains. So, should I spend the $500, (parts and installation) to lower the car from the stock .4" drop to 1.5" frint and 1.7 rear. any members have dropped their cars with 20" wheels? Any issues have come up?
OR
Spend $600 to upgrade the factory stereo amp for the stereo system. I did swithc out the head unit and added a subwoffer and amp. Upgrading the factory amp to somethign more powerful would improve the sound.
Depends if you like handling performance or good quality music....

Any feedback would be helpful.
We don't have enough info to give you the correct suggestion.
You might rub after lowered depending on the spec of your rims.
Give us the specs of the rims then we'll have to make a decision.

Who are you kidding here man? All of us here on this forum own FAMILY sedans. FAMILY sedans and "handling performance" don't go in the same sentence. The only purpose of lowering on a Camry would be to reduce the wheel gap when you put on larger rims. Any handling performance improvements (if any at all) on this FAMILY sedan would be minuscule.
Please, people - if you want to carve corners like you're in a BMW, you will NEED to buy a BMW.

drop first....(you and all others will enjoy walking up to your car and handling improves...even with 20" on)....but find a cheaper install shop and buy the amp much cheaper and install by yourself. Summary, to both for $600.
