LE with prewired fog lights question

sorry for adding another fog light question hahaha but didnt think it was covered? guess i didnt look hard enough

Q: For the LEs that are prewired for fog lights, I want to get the XLE/SE headlight stalk w/ the fog switch and I understand that I need to get the wire harness but if the car was already "prewired" for fog lights, would I really need the harness? I asked my electrical teacher and he said that he thinks that i wont need it (electrical teacher for automotive, im studying to be a auto technician) anybody already done this or have any opinions? I dont want to ask the dealership cause when i called the parts department and asked to see how much it would cost to get the fog light kit and they quoted me $700+ for parts umm...gyea F--- that hahah

i already got fogs and i spliced the fog lights with my headlights, but i jux want to make it all stock kinda thing

No, you won't need that wire harness. Its the same harness that hooks into your stock headlamp stalk. Just remove it from your stock one and plug it into the new one.

Glaring blue HID bulbs are NOT classy, and don't make your car look nice, no matter what that kid in the Civic told you.

if ur interested, i got the stalk from Njerald gave me, i found another site at first which was selling it for like $119 or something but from 'trademotion' its like 5 bucks cheaper. From what 'whitechocolate' said, we dont need the wire that i mentioned earlier, i just got it jux in case for the future and also cause i already placed the order b4 i got the helpful reply = /

what bulbs r u using? Im running 2500k from Nokya, kinda want to get some other brand, maybe PIAAs or something jux cause i think the quality is a lot better or jux run HIDs in my fogs but i know the drill n thats what holding me back cause i dont want to blind ppl and attract unwanted guests haha

hey Rose, jux keeping u updated since u wanted to know

i jux installed the OEM SE/XLE headlight switch with fog today and it was a pretty easy installation, it took some time bc i was trying to be careful, cept i broke a clip but it wasnt really an important one hahah, took me about 35-40 minutes and reinstallation was jux 5 minutes hahahah literally

heres the site if ur interested on removing ur steering wheel, read Njerald's revision steps Wood Steering wheel Install
there are more steps afterwards the removal of the steering wheel but Im affraid I cant provide u a link to the rest cause I printed my steps on how to remove the stalk from Snap-On's Shopkey but lemme know if ur interested and ill try and type the other steps for u

and if u want to buy the stalk, the link is near the beginning of this thread and remember to buy a relay for it or else it wont work, which i need to do, part #90080-87026 or #90080-87010 and u plug it under ur steering wheel, where the fuses and the knee air bags r, ull see it, jux FYI

to be honest, i dont think they'll be a difference between the setup that we have vs the factory setup

cause i tested the power source-took two alligator clips, clipped one end to the postive battery terminal and clipped the other end to the fog light connector, took the second alligator clip and grounded it, along with clipping it to the connector and it got a little brighter but nothing too noticable, maybe its just the bulb but result wasnt drastic

so either u can keep what u have and save about $150 (give or take a few) or jux go all OEM <-which is what I'm trying to do
