Dealer guide and factory maintenance guide give contradictory information. My situation is unique as I've driven 30k miles in roughly 14 months. Next time stop and think before going into attack mode. I don't care how many posts you have or how much of an expert you think you are. Obviously I know how to search--- I was looking for insight and opinion; you provided neither.

Dealer guide will always have more to do on it. They want to make money, and more they "check" the more money they can charge you. I would go with toyota factory recommendation
For example, the factory suggests an inspection of the tranny and differential fluids; dealer suggests changing it. What is the key factor here, age or mileage? Will these fluids break down and become more contaminated with more mileage or time? Should I wait more time and ignore the mileage since it has only been a year?
Thanks.

I wasn't in attack mode. You're the one that needs to stop and think. Did you even try the search function for "30K service" or "30,000 mile service"? No, you didn't. Think. Quit being lazy. I provided you with the information you need to get the answers you want. Don't cry about it. The pain is people like you start a thread before thinking and add more clutter when the search function is used.
If you would have searched, the many other threads do give insight and opinions. Think.

I referred the OP to the thread that has the link to the factory maintenance guide and to use the search function which will show the threads covering this topic many times previously.
YOUR reply didn't contain useful help. Maybe you shouldn't have posted it.

The factory maintenance guide goes by time and/or mileage. That addresses your question...

Just follow toyota's guide - not the dealers.. Toyota's maint. guide goes by Time or mileage, which ever comes first as stated in their guide.
You're still not answering my question. Just ignore the post; go troll other threads, genius.
I did answer your question. Have you even looked? The factory maintenance guide gives you the information by time or mileage.
Again, look at the maintenance guide. If you don't have it, there's a link to it in the "Newbies please read before posting!" sticky at the top of the forum.
You've already been directed to all information for the questions that you've had. Quit crying and just look. It's really that simple. Sometimes you will actually have to do something, other times people will do the leg work for you. In the time that you've spent whining, you could have simply looked it up with the resources provided to you.

An asshole will ALWAYS be an asshole, just do a search on all the threads he made in the past, majority of them are the same type of nonsense he is trying to stir....

but I gotta agree there are a bunch of assholes in this forum lol.
I guess no one bothered to click on the link above, where it clearly states what is recommended at 30K miles, no matter how soon one puts that much on their car.
