2002 Camry

Neither cigarette lighter socket has power, yet the fuze is good. Everything else seems to be working properly. Any ideas?

Are you sure you checked the correct fuse? Which one did you check? How did you check it?

I checked the 15 amp fuze in the fuze panel to the left and below the steering wheel. I checked it with an ohmmeter.

Once again, which fuse did you check?

Sorry, it was the fuze labeled "CIG".

Try a 15A labeled either 'power point' or 'power outlet'. I'm going off memory here, but if I'm correct the two power outlets don't run off the 'cig' fuse, that's an optional circuit.

And just for reference, a 'fuse' is a component in a circuit to protect from over draw, and a 'fuze' is something that helps initiate an explosive device, like an FMU-152 inside everyone's favorite JDAM.

That's it - the 15 amp fuse labeled "Power Point" was blown. Thanks for the fuse vs. fuze explanation. I should have known that.
