What does Tanabe, TRD, and Eagle Eyes have in common? (Picture Intensive)
They fit on a Camry!
Well sort of.
Here's a compilation of what I've been working on since the past week or so.
Opinions: TRD Lowering Springs:
Fairly small drop, I didn't want a big drop due to this being a daily driver. With the stock SE wheels, there's about a 2 finger gap in the front and the rear as well. The drop is not completely even, but that was stated already in the TRD/Eibach specs. It handles quite a bit better, definitely worth the money paid for these springs. The biggest difference I noticed is that I feel the road a lot more, bumps become more evident and hurts more, lol.
Eagle Eyes Smoked LED Taillights: Installation took maybe about 30 minutes or so. It took a while to take off the stock taillights. Everything fit well, fitment isn't completely perfect, but for just some taillights, they aren't too noticeable to the regular person unless they own a Camry and notice differences themselves. Looks great at night, bright and all. Now I wish my front headlights were just as smoked as the rear ones.
Tanabe Touring Medallion Exhaust I had to take it to a muffler shop to get it put in. I removed my stock axelbacks myself and drove around without mufflers for a bit to the shop. Sounded great actually, haha. They had to cut off my stock piping and attach the Tanabe on, only took about 45 minutes at the shop to get it done. Throttle response is improved, feels a bit quicker. It isn't nearly as loud as I thought it would be. It definitely lives up to the quiet specs that Tanabe publishes. Very low cabin noise, idle and anything under about 3k rpm is fairly quiet, open throttle is still handleable. Sounds great.
For those who are wondering:
Wax used is Pinnacle Souveran Carnauba Paste Wax.
Lenses used is 24-105L and 10-22.
There's going to be a decent amount of pictures, I did a full detail with polish and wax as well.
Now on to the pictures:

love the wide angle dude! i have the same lens (24-105L) and it is rock solid! lol a fellow canonist!
comments:
on the touring medallion exhaust, you could have had the shop push out the exhaust a bit further out to be more flush with the rear lip. my 2cents.
any sound clips too?
normally tanabe doesnt sell their touring medalions as axlebacks alone. did you purchase them for the is2/350?
OT: maybe its just me and my monitor, but your pictures appear to be dull in colour. my L lens is bright, vibrant and tack sharp. im surprised at the colour of your images (unless of course, low res, bad lighting, default setting for picture style and saturation.)
no i dont think so. normally a uv filter helps in adding contrast to the picture, maybe a tad bit on the saturation and sharpness but it doesn't dull an image's colour. if it was a vintage style filter (wherein the image outcome looks like that taken half a century ago) it would be very inappropriate. a circular polarizer too should bring out contrast and saturation. my guess is either it is in auto-mode, or the user color style is just set to neutral (which would account greatly for the washed out colours of the image). or could also be a lower model canon. i did a test before using an xti and a 40d using the same lens, same lighting and same subject, the 40d did better on all the pictures (all unprocessed) because of the better sensor.
looks great! the stance is perfect
i love the tanabe exhausts....io used to have a super medallion hyper catback on my old acura integra LS, and it sounded awesome...nice throaty growl, and it wasnt at all loud or ricey....im looking into adding a tanabe to my gen 5!
This is a bit off topic, but what makes you to get TRD instead of Eibach? If I am correct, they both offer the similiar drops with decent ride comfort and improved handling. I think TRD is more expensive, but it has more "OEM" feels.
I am actually looking to get a set as well, mainly to reduce body roll when turning. From your experience, is TRD doing well on the issue I have?
