Hey guys. I've just found out that my left rear speakers dry rotted and crackled. I noticed it tonight and barely touched it only to see it crumble in my hands. Now I have this huge hole with my speakers showing and I was wondering if any one of you guys know the parts number for it? I'd like to replace it ASAP since I don't want my speakers to be stolen.

Kinda takes the meaning of blowing out your speakers to a whole new meaning.

I think this topic has been covered before. I believe u have to get a whole new rear deck? not too sure

nts: dont touch the speaker cover in the gen5

Wouldn't a new 1 would grumble just like this? And I don't think Ur speaker will get "stolen" but more from damage from the sun due to full expose to the lights and heat.

I just came back from a local Toyota dealer. They wanted $699 for a new rear deck with the speaker covers. No thanks. I rather try my luck at a junkyard.

or ebay. $700.. ouch. If you fold $700 together U can cover that hole nicely too.

you can do a custom cover for it, buy clothes and just cover it, or buy new speaker and use the grille that come with it

Ouch! Is your car in the sun a lot? You should consider tinting your car if so. I don't have covered parking at home but M-F morning till afternoon it's in a covered parking garage. After having tint put on my car, it stays A LOT cooler.

Good luck in getting that fixed. I think I'd cry because of how it looks, and then because of how much Toyota wants for a solution to the problem!

^ Yeah, I'm planning to tint my car by end of summer. My car is the only car in the family that's not tinted.

I'll probably hit the local junkyard and find a rear deck for my car.

I had this same stuff happen to me last night, I found the speaker cover on Ebay for laround 50 bucks shipped. I was told by dealer today to bring it in and let service manager look at to determine if it is considered warranty
