5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
After much reading on the boards, I am confident that getting drop springs for my 2007 Camry SE V6 will have little to no issues with the 20x8.5 MRS wheels riding on 245/35/20.
So, I guess I am torn on what Springs to get. I am not a track guy and as long as the ride is decent, I am cool with it. So, if I go to the dealer and order the TRD springs, I can get 10-15% for being a new Camry owner.
Or
Order H&R and hope it is avaiable. Any feedback is greatly appritiated.
I would opt for the TRD - one main point: it will not void your warranty and it is enough of a drop for your 20's, I think. The H&R drop it more and more even - nice, but also stresses the struts more and their are no aftermarket struts for lowering kits, so making the warranty issue even more relevant. JMO
to answer your question though, +1 on what tobeit said regarding the warranty. the h&r will just give you a better drop and appearance and a more balanced look

Nice photoshop. But, i don't want to slam it to the ground. Roads in Hawaii suck. Though, the coilovers would be good to lower it at just the right height. I figure, I can afford H&R springs, not sure if they are in stock right now. Only reason I would opt for TRD is the discount the dealer is giving. But, looks are important and from what I have read on this forum, H&R is the way to go. Agree?
i'm a noob to the whole drop suspension thing, but im still thinkin about doin it for my gen 5.5. im leaning more towards TRD.
anyways, my question is, after dropping the car, do I have to have all my wheels realigned? im worried about having to keep paying for work to be done, one thing after another, just for modding one thing. any help will be appreciated!
if you have the money for coilovers get them instead. that gives you the freedom to change your ride height. it's pretty straight forward when changing/adjusting height too, just time consuming. it would be a waste to get hr springs then later down the road you'll be getting coilovers.
