I was bored so I took some pics...

It finally stopped raining long enough to wash and wax my car. I just got a new camera so I thought I'd dick around with it and take some pics...

I know it would look better dropped, but it's my daily driver for work and I know I'd never get out of the parking lot at my office without scraping (it has a steep incline to the main road)...

You should get bored more often. Nice pics. You obviously have a nice camera so why not hit a nice park or industrial setting and take some artsy shots?

COOL!

LOL - thanks. I just got a Nikon DSLR so definitely I'll get some better backdrops when I have the time. I was actually at the train station for these shots so my kids could watch trains!! (those are my two boys looking at a train about to pass by on the last pic I posted). They were quite pissed actually when we got home and I didn't have any shots of the train

I shoot a D80 myself. It becomes pretty easy to spot other nice camera shots when you have one! I love mine.

I got my window visors at the Toyota dealer at time of purchase -they are a genuine Toyota product. The 'in channel' ones look a lot better in my opinion as they don't cover the chrome window trim. I also like the smoked color as it matches my hood deflector and tint nicely.

I'm definitely hooked. I got the D40x with the 18-55 lens but I'm going to pick up a 55-200 VR lens - or ideally the 18-200VR if the Mrs. allows it. It really takes photography to the next level that's for sure.

Looks great!

Question: (1) What tire shine did you use and (2) does it slough off onto the body when you drive?

Nice rims man, perfect for the color. Can you put on taller tires to fill up the gap? Would look nicer imo

I use Turtle Wax Platinum Series non-drip tire gel. It's a great product but unfortunately seems to have been discontinued.

It doesn't usually spin off onto the car if I let it sit for 15 minutes in the sun to dry after applying. That said, it has occasionally spun off with my new tire/rim package and +35 offset - most likely a combination of me over-applying, not letting it dry long enough, and my rubber being flush with the body.

The pics actually make the tires look less shiny than in real life. It gives a great gloss that lasts well after a good rain.

I picked up a box on Ebay a few months ago.
