Vibration while braking

Hi all:

I have an '02 Camry. For a while now, it has had a very noticable "shimmy" in the steering wheel while braking. It is most noticable at about the 30-45 mph range when braking.

This weekend, I replaced what I thought to be the most obvious culprit - the front rotors. So now with a new set of front rotors, still does the exact same thing.

Anyone have some other ideas as to what might be causing this "shimmy" in the steering wheel? Rear brake drums maybe?

Hmmm...this is very strange how you still get the vibration even AFTER new front rotors.

Do you have any flat spots on your tires?

I hope you replace the pads along with the new rotors. Other than the wheels out of balance, while you're at maybe it's a good idea to get the front/back alignment check as well.

Check for a warped hub or debris between the hub and rotor where they mate up.

Vibration while braking

Hey I have the problem in my 07 the Camry's brakes are a bit soft brake hard with them they heat up an the rotors will warp. What I did was instead of using OEM rotors I upgraded to a set of Brimbo OEM replacements they cost a little more but they can take the heat.
