5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
alright boys and girls, good news and bad news. as i was doing my usual product research, i came across a new body kit for the gen 6 camry, but only for the LE, XLE, HYBRID and CE models. none for the SE. why, u ask? because in JDM LAND (japan), there is only one trim for the camry which is the LE. they dont have the SE there. the good news is that this lip kit offers an alternative to the RKsport or Razzi Lip kits. it is a very clean and simple lip kit, yet it looks really stunning. this kit can be used for those who want a SORT OF vip inspired ride (not to be ever confused with this being a VIP kit...evaaarrrrr!). this kit also looks better than the SET kit because it is a one piece lip in the front.
the manufacturer of this kit is LX MODE. they are a very reputable manufacturer in japan and is popular among the VIP/EXE crowd there.
this may very well be one of the first times that the camry has been looked at by aftermarket tuners in japan for aero kits.
these are rides by diff people with the lxmode lip kit:
now here's the bad news... i do not know who your local distributors are. for sure here in canada there are none. the only one i know of down in california would be carson toyota/lexus -- www.l-tunedparts.com
they list the lx mode lexus parts on their site, but none on the toyota site for the camry but it still is worth a shot to try to have these brought in.
i also don't know the pricing since i didnt pay attention to it, but whatever price you see in YEN (japanese currency), just divide it by 100 to get a rough estimate of the price in US DOLLARS.
btw, a myriad of suspension products were available too for the acv/gsv40 camry (gen6).
in japan, they had tanabe nf210 springs available, which is what these lx mode guys used.
there was another coilover manufacturer which was http://www.k-jgk.com/
The grille looks a little small. I guess theres more white border than there is black mesh unlike the SE grille. looks nice but I dont think there is a bumper. Only the front kit. No side skirts either.
As for buying online, moky said he doesnt have that much information and the only one is Carson Lexus/Toyota. I say, give them a call and see what happens and see if they can order it/ship it.
there are sides for it. they are just really subtle. there is nothing for the rear though, which from the side profile it looks good already as you can see on the first white camry. (well to me it looks good) this is just a lip kit.
as for the grille, there is still the border but the mesh seems to be lodged in deeper that the SE grille's mesh, which made the recessed area appear bigger than it really is, but i like it. simple, clean and fresh. i've seen many an aurion do this type of a grille.
for those interested, your best bet is to really contact carson toyota since they are the only ones i know who carry LX mode (for their lexus parts) in north america.

what i meant by sucks for us (i like my se kit too) is that there is no product for us in terms of a lip kit or such since the SE does not exist in japan.
yes tobeit, it is very subtle. lol next to not noticeable.
