gen 7 Turning OFF VCS and TC

Hey dose any body out there know how to turn off the bloody traction control and VSC I have an 07 SE V6 and it would be a much better car if Toyota would have installed off buttons.I have a friend that has an 02 Maxxi 3.5.On the freeway I smoke him but from a stop he gets me every time my damn traction control takes my power is there a fuse or relay that will turn off these systems?

You can try this to turn it off until the car is turned off again:

1. Make sure the car is in Park and the parking brake is disengaged before you start the car.
2. Start the engine.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
5. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
6. Disengage the parking brake.
7. Fully depress and hold down the brake pedal.
8. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it(while holding down the brake pedal).
9. Engage the parking brake, then disengage it(while holding down the brake pedal).
10. Release the brake pedal.
11. Engage the parking brake.
12. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.
13. Fully depress the brake pedal and then release.

When "Check VSC" is displayed in the multifunction display along with the "Trac-off" icon indicator, you'll know that you have successfully completed the procedure.

I read about that in Motor Trend a couple of years ago when one of their staffers disabled the VSC on a Lexus GS, however I also think he mentioned that once the car is turned off you have to repeat the procedure all over again.

Njerald,

Do you know if that procedure works on the Hybrid model too? (Particularly the part where the system resets when you turn the car off and back on again)

I think the hybrid uses a different traction control / stability control system called VDIM. (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management)

I don't want to try it unless I know it's the same procedure- with my luck, it would use the same procedure to turn it off, but the require a whole different procedure to turn it back on again.

It would be nice to know that this procedure would work so I can turn it off if I'm ever stuck in snow. Last winter the VDIM prevented my car from even moving out of a parking space at work without 15-20 minutes of shoveling.

Sorry, no idea.
