5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Over the weekend v6secamry and his younger brother came over to help me lower my car along with my other buddies. It is an even drop all around. Feels just a little bit stiffer than stock but very insignificant. I love the way the car looks lowered. The best part is the ride is still smooth not far from stock. Also got an alignment this morning at Autobacs. Future plan is some nice 19 in rims.
redrum7 : It took us about 5 hours with 5 guys, 4 labor and one supervisor haha ( it was his garage). We also went out for lunch at a local Chinese seafood restaurant. Some of the lugs on my tires were really tight so it was hard to break. My tip is to stand on the wrench for the tires and use your weight, we had the biggest guy which is 160 LB do it works like a charm. It wasn't bad at all. Compressing the Springs took the longest but it wasn't hard. So it wasn't bad at all was actually really fun to hang out with the guys. Let us know if you have any questions. The drop was beautiful very low. The ride is pretty much smooth as stock can't really notice anything with these Tein.
Trojan : I have no clue what rims I want yet. I've been eyeing the OZ Canova with black trim, the highlander Hybrid's 19s are pretty nice too but too heavy. Your rims are pretty bad ass too if the PRICe is right hahaah .
ill let you know when i choose to sell the rims. i gotta find some time to throw my stocks back on. ill pm you the details.
btw, keep us updated on your ride when your springs begin to settle and take some new pics and measurements..

Is the scale measure before and after? If so, the drop is just a bit more than 1/2 inch? That is not much et all and I would not be surprised that the ride is almost still the way it was before. Maybe I see something wrong?
GOky_Park:
Thanks. Will definitely look into locking lug nuts. Yes they are the solara 4 cylinder springs Tien part number SKL68-AUB00.
Tobeit:
To be honest I did not take exact measurements before. The picture above with the tape measure is the result. I did do the finger test before and I was able to fit my whole hand into it. After the drop I can only fit two snugly. It should settle some more so hopefully the ride quality will not be drastically stiffer. Crossing fingers. lol

That makes a lot more sense.
PS: I did have to smile when you said the heaviest guy in your round was 160lbs :-)
