Some years Chevy and GMC trucks are WAY apart in the JD Power quality ratings... and they are the same darn truck. Back in the day of the Prism ans Corolla twins, the ratings were always different. I can't see how anybody would believe their BS anymore myself.

LOL! I have to agree, I laugh at the Chevy Malibu commercials when they talk about Accord and Camry not having OnStar...I guess you really do need OnStar when you drive a piece of junk and know that you will have problems as soon as you leave the GM lot....

GM has produced some real clunkers for sure. There are more than a few that I would certainly not want to drive. I've never been a GM car fan but I love the trucks. Full sized trucks are one market that the domestics have down.

I agree, quite a few people who do fill them out base it upon their experience at the dealer as well.

I always buy used so I look at long-term reliability information as found in Consumer Reports etc. There are only a few North American vehicles like Buick Regal (3.8) etc that stand the test of time and use. I really like my 04 LE but was still disapointed with problems like the steering intermediate shaft, rust already starting on the subframes, lower control arm bushings separating.
My neighbors 05 Tacoma has significant rust on the frame rails when looking down from under the hood. Our winters are severe here with heavy salt use but I would only expect rust of this nature in much older vehicles.
