Gen6 Has anybody removed their steering wheel b4 or know how?

As some of you guys know, I am trying to replace my current headlight/turn signal stalk with an SE/XLE part that has the fog switch built in

replacing this part requires me to remove the steering wheel and the columns, i printed out some instructions from "Snap On's Shop Key" but they have a lot of extra steps in doing so because it talks about removing and fixing more components, so I'm curious on if anybody can give me a few pointers, cautions, and DIY on how to do it

jux trying to find more resources that i can, quite frankly i cant online n on youtube, somewhat

so far, the only thing that I am positively sure on is I would need to disconnect the negative battery cable and wait for about 2 minutes so the secondary battery for the airbags wont diploy in case anything happens

-----

Im trying to avoid the dealership and other shops to save some money and avoid the risk of having something missing or messed up and I not know about it and something happens
