09 JBL with Navigation & Sirius

I picked up my new Camry tonight, but they had to order a few parts (Sirius, Bodyside Moldings, All Weather Mats, Trunk Mat) so not everything is installed.

I can't find a picture (screen shot) of the Toyota Navigation with Sirius (or XM for that matter). Question is what does it display on the screen? Song and Artist? Station? All of it?

I guess I will find out next week, but if someone knows I would appreciate the help.

It depends in which menu you are. In the station menu their are 8 SAT station buttons only telling you what the station name is (Hip-Hop, R&B...and the SAT station number). If you then press the text button it shows the artist and song title ...but both are truncated (12 letters or so) and often you got to guess what artist and title you are listening to. That's it - pretty basic.

No problem. I like my OEM Nav but I was hoping that they can integrated features, which you get standard on standard Sirius/XM receivers - like full title, artist, album etc. My wifes XM unit even shows songs playing on her other favority channels and she can switch to them at desire. Also, if you pick XM it does not come with XMtraffic etc. I will keep mine and for the most part it is not a big deal - would just be nice having these features...the screen is basically empty and mostly unused.

I love the Navigation system (especially since I burned the overide disc) but I am a bit disappointed with the fact that the title and artist do not scroll. Lets hope that Toyota fixes this in the future. The new Mazda 6 has some of the features of the plug and plays built in, like the ability to do a artist search, lets hope that is in the future as well.

Good to hear you like it. I never got around to burn that override disk - guess I am too lazy.

Canada MP3 Compatibility?

So, is the 4 CD Changer MP3 compatible?

Can I use WMV or MP3 CDs?

I'm looking into getting the 2009 XLE with Nav package, and am trying to decide if I need the iPod interface or not.

Any info would be appreciated. Cheers!

Thanks! Trying to decide options before buying - the satellite radio is sketchy where we live (I'm a 12 hour drive north of the US / Canada border) so we're considering a few things.

The wife is considering a 4 year old Mercedes-Benz Wagon for the same price as a new loaded Camry, so we're having some issues... Thanks!

I wanted to update this thread with some pictures just in case someone was looking for information on Sirius and the factory Navigation I thought I would post some pictures.

First of all they install the antenna (XM or Sirius) inside next to the rearview mirror. While this is a cleaner install (and easier for them) it does not provide as good of reception. I have had Sirius (and XM) in several cars and this setup causes some dropouts in tight narrow spaces (between buildings or under trees).

You can save up to 18 presets, 6 each on Sat 1, Sat 2 and Sat 3. You can go through the presents with both the steering wheel controls and or the touch screen.

Toyota dropped the ball here, it does not include the complete song and artist info. My 2003 Dodge Ram supported this why can Toyota get this right?

They do a great job with Mp3 and WMA cd's

I love having Sirius built in I just wish that they get with it on the interface.
