Interesting topic.

Once you get the JBL system dialed in, it sounds pretty wicked. My 08 SE V6's six-disc changer system has had no problems so far except for a CD single that got stuck in there once because it was a bit warped; but that wasn't the fault of the system, of course. The JBL option was one of the must-have options for me when I chose the SE, along with the leather. The system pounds pretty hard for a stock set up, and like others have said, if you keep that bass control up too high past 0 or 1, the car rattles like Britney Spears havin' an orgasm after I fucked her (yeah...she's a virgin alright) but my settings of BASS: 1 MID: 2 TREBLE: 3 and fader and balance both at zero for the CD input, my discs sound great. I had a huge dual 15" Rockford sub box in my last car, a '99 Accord coupe, and I'm kind of over the whole bass-to-blow-your-sister's-dress-off scene...I love the JBL system in my SE.

Got a question, if I picked up a jbl unit from a 2007 camry is the amp built in or it's separate? Saw one one Ebay , a take off for a nav change. Looks tempting

The amp is located under the passenger seat.

Gen6

and you'll need the wiring/connectors between the head unit and the amp and the amp and the speakers...and power to the amp.

The system is okay. I would say my 2000 accord stock system (i believe made by alpine) sound better.

THe camry focus too much sound out from the two mid-range speakers on the dash and making the rest to simulate bass. The quality isn't there and the bass isn't deep enough.
