Gen6 Suspension Mods basically done

My dad installed the Ultra Racing 4 point brace and the rear sway bar while I was at the beach this weekend. Came back home and installed the front strut bar and took it out for a test drive.

Initial response:
Pros: The car definitely feels more solid. Understeer has reduced dramatically. My cousin said he almost ran into the curb while U-turning because he was anticipating the understeer. It really feels like my car is on rails.

Cons: Leaves me wanting to stiffen up my chassis more and more. Can't do coils anymore as the 4-point brace is now the lowest point of my car. Although I do not go over any speed bumps... I shall think about it some more.

Suspension set up:
TRD springs
UltraRacing Strut Bar
UltraRacing 4-point brace
UltraRacing Rear Sway Bar
Riding on 18" SSRs with Kuhmo Ecsta tires

Still on list:
Ichiba 10mm spacers to widen the stance
In talk with Mike Barton to get more suspension/chassis products made

On with a few pics

Looks good. How much clearance have you left with the 4point brace and TRD springs?

Looks great BTW! When your dad installed each of the components did he test drive after each install? I am wondering which one will help the most since I do not have the money to buy all three at once.

Very nice! I am surprised that the under body brace sticks out so much. Obviously these aren't the same things, but the subframe connectors on my Camaro stick out only about .5-1 inch further than the bottom-most part of the rest of the car.

If somehow you hit some heavy stuff on the road... could that damage your brace? I prefer my under to be flat. Nothing sticking out. The damage would be less if I were to hit a road debris. Can't always see what's on the road.

Yeah, that is what I am worry about that 4 point brace - good for even street and race like applications...but if you go over a bump (like these nasty little bumps in parking lots to make you go really slow)...I would always be afraid something get's hung up their and rips my car apart. But maybe I am just too worry?

PS: I am pre-damaged. I ripped my rear axle out of a car 15 years ago when going over a gate latch (that thing in the ground holding two gates in place when closed in the middle). I always made it over that thing until one day my car was heavy loaded and therefore an inch lower than normal...and BANG.

I bought the 4 point brace from next gen tuning if it ever arrives. I was deciding between that and lowering springs but figured I'd be better off with the brace during the winter months. I would be terrified to install that brace on a lowered car.

So i measured the clearance and the lowest point is 7.5 cm from the ground, which equates to around 3 inches... That is with TRD springs... so if I lower one more inch with coils, thats 2 inches of clearance...

Iffy...

Don't get caught up in the going as low as possible just b/c you have coilovers. They are good for many things besides being able to slam the car. The car will handle 10x better with the coilovers than those trd springs. You can adjust every aspect of your suspension with the Megan coilovers for sure. Trust me you'll love switching over to coilovers.
