5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I have NGK Platinum plugs in my 04 Camry 6 cyl car and I like to replace them with NGK or Autolite brand. Iridums last 100,000 but dont know about the Platinums life.
Denso are too expensive, so i like to stick with the other brands. Has anyone had experience with these brands on this engine ?

Actually, platinums are supposed to be changed at 100,000 miles and iridiums at 120,000 miles.
I used to change platinums every 60,000 miles on my Formula because the platinum would fall off the plugs and I could actually feel it.
I now run NGK iridium plugs and will change them every 100,000 miles on my Formula and on my Camry.
NGK's are great plugs and are very popular in the performance world also. I've never heard anything bad about them or seen anything bad about them either. Stay away from Bosch. They are complete garbage and cause nothing but problems in all makes of vehicles.
If you want NGK go to http://www.ngk.com and search for your car, it will return the various plugs available. The part number for the Iridium IX plugs is BKR6EIX-11 for the 1MZFE engine. OE gap is .044". My friend recently bought NGK Iridium IX for his car from Advanced Auto Parts and they came pre-gapped.
NGK Laser Iridium or Denso Iridium but not the IK series. The NGK IX and Denso IK are supposed to perform better, but probably not enough to notice, and they don't last as long due to finer center electrode and lack of platinum on the ground.
Since you have V6, I would advise the long life plugs since it's a pain in the ass to change the plugs.
catric69: I asked if anyone had used any of the DENSO or NKG's ?
Since everyone is waiting for the 120,000 mark to change there plugs, I cant get results.
I purchased NGK 7092 GP Platinums BKR6EGP

You got platinums?
Why didn't you get iridiums as suggested? After all, that's what you were asking about and advised to do...
