i'm looking for new rotor for my camry,
i went to dealership and OEM rotor were 120 per piece,
what's the most reliable rotor on market?
i don't want any performance stuff, i just want quiet stop.
my brakes squeels like hell, and i'm going replace them on my own,
i've got oem pads, anti-squeel shim, new bolts, new brackets so far,
but rotor.
please give some recommendation for good rotor.
thanks.

Good question....I had my '06 in to the dealer for an oil change and they noticed my front brakes need replacing in order for it to pass inspection. New rotors and pads came to $470. I was like, yeah right, I'll have to schedule that when I get some time. So I've been looking for some good rotors and pads to put on myself.

I recently upgraded to brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pro ceramics. The blanks are great, but do NOT go with the ceramics. They have great bite to them when they heat up, but for the first few brakings, the pads make SO much noise, its ridiculous. Plus, when it rains they moan VERY loud when they are cold.
I would only recommend the Hawk Pro ceramics if it is for autoX. For daily driving, it is a bit of a nuisance.

just wondering, I am thinking bout getting the brembo blanks and the Hawk HPS. Do you have the Hawk HPS or the Hawk Performance Ceramic. Thanks
to the guy that was quote 600 for rotors and pads.. on an 06....
i have an 02, and only replaced my rotors once... a year ago... so doing the math....
make sure you need to replace the rotor... i.e. you can get them trued... pep boys in socal charge under 20 bucks a rotor if you bring them off your car...
make sure you bolt tires to the specific tourque or else it will warp the rotors...
if you install rotors you buy brand new make sure you clean them with a good cleaning agent before you put them on... they come with a coating on it (to prevent rusting) that will leave black marks on the rotors... as the pad rubs on them heating them up...
it won't look all pretty and silvery... they will have little black lines...
