2002 Camry XLE - Cigarette Lighter Problem

Hi all,

I am trying to get the cigarette lighter in my 2002 Camry XLE working again. A little background. One day, we plugged in one of those cig to electric outlet adapters in (i.e. you plug one end into the cig lighter, and then you can plug any standard electrical item to the other end, like a laptop). Well, everything was working fine for a little while, and then, all of a sudden, something happened. The unit stopped working and I thought it was that converter unit, but then I tried to plug in just my cell phone charger into the cig lighter, and it didn't work. I looked at the fuse box and the "CIG" fuse, which was 15A was still GOOD. I didn't check any other fuses. Is there another fuse that might also be connected to it that I should check? If it is not the fuse, then what could it be? How can I get it working again? I am fairly new to electrical systems in cars, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

There is another fuse called like compartment or something like that. The CIG fuse is not it.

There is another thread about the cigarette lighter fuse on here.. i'm too crazy to search for it now.

Thanks, I found it. It is called the Power Point Fuse (Also a 15A). That is a little misleading. I wonder what the CIG fuse DOES control? Is there site where it would list each fuse and what it controls? If so, where could I find it? That is what I tried at first, but google resulted nothing useful, except I did stumble onto this forum, so I guess it was good overall. Thanks.

Your Owners Manual lists them and the Service Manual goes into detail.

The accessory you're using is drawing too many amps.
