HID Kit Concern

Hello, I just purchased and installed a xenondepot.com HID kit in my camry. It has been running great for about two weeks until today. When I turned on the car I noticed the passenger side bulb did not ignite. I turned off the car and turned it back on and they both ignited. Has anyone had this problem and should I be concerned? Thanks.

Well I dont think it could be the connections because the car didnt even move at all and it fired right up. I am already trying to get in touch with xeonodepot. Just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar experiences and what it led to.

If you are not already running a harness, install one. I would wager you are not running one though. Deal is, when you are running off of the car's electrical system, you will sometimes not have enough current for ignition. I had the same problem, the installed a harness and the condition went away. Also, if you enjoy your new found output, look into a retrofit, WELL worth the time/money. Good luck.

Good start. First and foremost, check and recheck your connections. After that, try switching the bulbs. If you get the intermittent inoperative ignition on the other side once you switched the bulb, you know your bulb is failing. If you switch the bulbs and the same side keeps failing, look into your ballast failing.

Ya I mean it has only happened once in many times I have fired them up in the last 2 weeks. I will check the connections and go from there. If it becomes a normal thing I will switch bulbs. I am hoping that it is a one time glitch.

Well, lets hope not. Good luck with that man. www.hidplanet.com is a great site. I had a PNP kit myself, TRUST ME, you will love having a retrofit. The process is a relatively easy one, just read up before you tear everything apart and you will be fine. BTW, you covered your squirrel spotters right?

Check the relay harness. I had the same problem around 3 months after installation, contacted Steve at XenonDepot who sent me the instruction to diag. I found the relay contacts corroded, cleaned them and sealed the relay with some silicon RTV. No more problem until now.

Turn on your headlights only after the car has started to be safe. When cranking, the camry sucks up alot of power and if your ballast tries to ignite the hids at the same time it'll fail.

Alternatively, I've found that if you turn the ignition key faster, your hids will light everytime. If you turn slower, then your hids will fire before your engine starts and will fail to ignite
