The manual says that if you lock the trunk (turn key counter-clockwise), the trunk will not open if you pull the release lever or use the wireless remote. But mine still opens with the remote. Why?! Everyone else have this? Or is this a mistake in the manual? Thanks.
Damn, I didnt even know about this. I know with my Taurus, there was a keyhole next to lever. I'm at work so i cant run out and try it at the moment...so if I pop the trunk with keyfob does that mean I can use the lever now the next time I need to open the trunk or is it unlocked only if I put the key in and turn clockwise?

Okay folks, try this:
- Turn it Counter-Clockwise (Lock to Valet Mode): Valet Key and Pull Lever will NOT work.
- Turn it Clockwise (Unlock): Pull Lever will work, but Valet Key WILL NOT.
The Master Keys (with the remote) will work either ways.
--- That's why you should never give your Master Key to the Valet guys.

Thanks, I dont have valet key on me so I cant try until I get home. Too early so my brain hasnt kicked in yet. So you'll need master keys to lock/unlock it before using valet key.
Either way, valet key wont work on trunk. Its just a matter of locking the lever.
The problem is, for me, the wireless remote can still open the trunk even when it's locked (turned CCW). The manual says when it's locked, nothing can open it. Am I missing something? It says it on page 48.

I guess you didn't read my previous posts...

when you lock the trunk, just the trunk lever and valet key wont work. Remote will work regardless. Never give your master keys to a valet attendant. Also, lock your glove compartment.
