5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I wouldn't get the Camry LE, there is nothing sporty about it. I personally would go for the Corolla if you are not willing to pay for the Camry SE. However, just going by MSRP, you should be able to get a Corolla XRS for about the same price as a Camry LE. Shop around some more to find what you want at the right price.
New body style of the Corolla is really nice, it looks like a mini Camry.

That was exactly what I said when I saw it. They probably use the same drawing for the Camry and just shrink it.
Corolla is like the younger and spunky sister.
I agree with the 'If not Camry SE than go with Corolla'. I also want to add 'if not many passengers to use the V6 power than go with the Corolla'.
The Camry is by far a better car than a Corolla. I don't understand why you want to get a smaller car for the same price.
I test drove both the Corolla & Matrix, then I tried the Camry LE, it's a totaly different car, much more power, much bigger space, comfy, better design, etc.
I'd do everything in my power to get as large a sedan as possible for any set of given money amount. Corolla is SMALL. Your rear passengers will feel it, you'll feel the small trunk, no shoulder room, etc. Plus as a subjective thing...the Camry looks 10 times better than the Corolla.
If you're set on going small at least get the Matrix - those things are good looking and far more functional.

But if no passenger there to feel it... At least it is a 4 doors. I HATE sitting in the back seat in one of those 2 doors car.
I like the small size of the corolla though. It's actually fun to drive. It's light weight make it easier to turn and stuff. I always feel my Camry is big and heavy.

That's what I was trying to say. You said it.

You need to figure out which one suits YOU better.
If you want sporty suspension, you may not be happy with the LE. If you want a larger car, you may not be happy with the Corolla.
The corolla is eaier to park, a fun car to drive and gets better mileage. I like them, but wanted more trunk and would like to haul passengers comfortably, so I stretched my budget and got the Camry SE (and am so glad I did).
My coworker (who is shorter than me) wouldn't even consider the Camry as it was too large. They rarely put people in the back seat (They have a 4 door Tundra for that chore) and love the car.
I was able to get a dealer to let me take good test rides back to back on the same loop and I was amazed at how much difference there was just within the different Camry models. Go drive some cars!
i have 3 editions of corollas in my home starting from 1990
and i frequently ride in my roommates new corolla (the one that looks like a mini camry) making it 4 generations of corollas.... and my opinion still doesn't change.
the back seat leg room is FREAKEN HORRIBLE!!!!!! OMGGGG
but that's just what a corolla is and always has been =P
the second i rode in a camry i was like in heaven rofls.
