5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
ok i need to splice into the rear speaker wires along the kickpanel but dont know which wire is which. there seems to be 2 of everywire so im lost on what to do.
what im trying to do is install 2 speakers.
how its going is new speakers into amp
amp into factory rear wires
so which color wires are the rear + - speakers? on both sides.
i really dont want to take the head unit off or anything else major thats why im trying to go threw the wires in the kickpanel. on my other car it was alot simpler.
well found out that i cant use the amp i have b/c you cant run 2 amps to do the same thing since the camry has an internal amp.
is this true or can i still do the idea i had by using the factory wires for the rear speakers to the amp im going to run.
and where is the factory amp located. i looked at the manual and it says its under the passenger seat but dont see nothing there but i read something else somewhere else i read the it was under the glove box
what year is it, it should be under the pass seat with a black cover over it. I have the factory amp in my car and i am running 3 seperate amps, i just bypassed the factory amp.
here are your colors

keeping in mind you see the same wire colors for different speakers, you need to know which wiring harness each speaker comes from to decifer this. See the electrical wiring diagram for the repair manual pages 354 355
what you will need to do is buy a line output convertor and convert the factory speaker wire into RCAs. If you buy the correct line output convertor it will be able to handle the factory wattage as an imput and you will have no problems. I recommend Audio Contol LC6i for this.
thanks for the help i ended up not using the amp. just hooked up the speakers to the rear speakers. sounds alittle better. more highs and more bass. friend went into my car and was asked me what kinda subs i was running and i said thats all speakers.
now im going to use the amp for a 10" sub im going to buy.
now why do idiots like njerald make a reply saying unbelievable for.... if you have nothing to add then dont post. sorry if not everyone knows everything like you jerk.

Not sure it's a good idea to have 2 speakers on the same line. I mean speaker have impedance (like resister) and when you put them in parallel, I think impedance add while resistance divide. Anyway.. mathematically the # will be wrong. But seem like it doesn't cause any problem.
"unbelievable" is his trade mark. Just ignore it. LOL
well as far as the question does the speaker fit in right well i made the made to fit the speakers so yes they fit right in.
i have 6 speakers i think cus if i had 8 then i dont know where the other 2 are. so i guess i dont have jbl.
there 6x8 lightning audio 225w. i got them free so thats why i used them.
i also got a lightning 750w for 40 bucks new (originally cost 80, had a hook up @ walmart) which i bought for no reason now but i will end up buying a 600w 10"sub believe its pioneer and have it in the trunk for added thump.
yeah my friend told me that about the 2 speakers on the same line and it might make the rears not performance like normal but im having no problems with it.

If it add like I think than basically the volume gets a little lower.
