DIY cutting fender with dremel kit

I'm getting ready for some new rims so I decided to cut my fender to prevent rubbing in the rear tires. It was pretty simple. The tools that I used are:

1: Dremel rotary tool
2: Dremel quick release metal blade(5 pieces)/ bit combo($15 @Walmart)
3: Extra pack of metal blade(5 pieces) from Lowes $10
4: Safety eye glass protect from the sparks
5: Gloves/ long sleeve shirt
6: 10 mm socket for one of the bolt
7. took apart the cover inside the wheel well.
8. took off my wheels for more room to work.
9. some tape would be good to tape the outside of the fender in case you slip and scratch your paint.

It was pretty straight forward just get the dremel and the metal cutting blade and start cutting away. Total cost was $25 bucks to have the rear fenders cut. Remember to let the Dremel cool off after one side is done because it will loose power when cutting and might cause slipping.

Here is a little clip of what it looks like.

What is the specs of your new rims and tires? What make you think you're gonna rub in the rear to go through all that work! Just wondering.

NICE!! most prob i'll be doing this as well since i want to put spacers to get the wheels poke out a little

whats ur wheel spec? im sure you can go 20x10 in the rear with some neg camber and stretch tyres

i miscalculated my wheels, i shouldve gotten myself 20x10 instead of 20x9.5 cuz now with my wheels cambered i still have some room to go with wider wheels

good job on the diy tho

I will be going with 19's and the tire size are 235/35/19 +35 offset. It wasn't too much trouble, I just wanted to make sure that when I have people in the back so that it won't rub. Might as well do it now. Yeh the paint will have to be sealed with rust protecting paint from the inside to keep the paint rust and chips. Thanks Indomi.

i have 19x8.5 245/35/19 tires and they rub if i have people in the back and/or if i go over a pretty good like bump. imma have to get some negative camber in the rear too thought shaving the fenders will do the trick but guess not

they rub cause your tyres are way too wide. 245/35 on a 8.5 is too wide. I got 215/35/19 on 19x8.5 on my previous ride, but 225/35 would be ideal for those not wanting stretch tyres. It WILL help solve or at least minimize your rubbing problems if you change to narrower tyres
