Prices Paid for 2009s

I got a 4 cylinder SE today and it was $24000 OTD. Nothing on it except spoiler/toyoguard/mats. Black on black with sport interior. What do you guys think? I think it was a good deal considering where I started.

I traded in my 09 Corolla S for the SE. Owed $19700 and I was able to haggle up to $18101 from the original offer of $15000. "Invoice" on the SE was $22500. MSRP was $24632. This Florida dealer even had an "adjusted market value" markup of $2995. I said i'm not paying that, this is not a house that appreciates in value. Also on the sticker was a $199 Nitro-fill. I said no to that too. Total on the sticker after all the bogus add ons was a little over $27000.

Wait... let me get this straight...

You recently purchased a 2009 Corolla, and still owed $19,700.
You just traded it in, and purchased a 2009 Camry SE for $24,000- $632 below MSRP.

So in reality you now owe $25,599, plus financing costs on your new Camry... Which is now worth approximately $19000... if the dealer likes you, and you're trading it in on a new Avalon.

Um... I don't mean to be disrespectful, but you got taken... twice.

I would say that a "good" deal would have been $1500 under MSRP. a "great" deal would have been $2000+ off MSRP. I think that $22,200ish would have been a better goal for you, depending on the cost of the Toyoguard... Anyone who pays even close to MSRP really needed to shop around...

As for the "adjusted market value" claim- B.S. these cars aren't exactly in short supply.

I sure hope you got a heck of a deal on financing.

Just wait until Njerald gets a hold of you...

P.S. In all seriousness, welcome to TN- hopefully we can lead you down the road of more affordable mods and decisions in the future.

Gen6 V6 Le

I got a low optioned V6 le for $20400.00

Sticker with mats and destination $24600.00 I would rather have the V6 than the SE trim.

And you can add accessories later cheaper than the factory charges.

Prices paid? $15,149 for an 09 Black CE manual with floormats

Think of all the things I could do with $9,000 more to spend...

No, there were no rebates when I bought it on April 30, they only had 2.9% deal for 36 months. I was told you would get a "great" deal if you buy it at the end of the month and so i chose the last day of April.
