Gen6 Stopped really fast... now my stereo won't turn on?

I ran a remote turn-on wire from the back of my stereo and a power wire from my battery about six months ago to hook up a subwoofer/amp. Everything worked fine until tonight, where the person in front of me stopped suddenly, and so did I.

Well, as soon as I stopped, my subwoofer moved around in my trunk, and my radio went off. Not only did the stereo itself stop working, but the blue light around the stereo doesn't work either, no matter what, so it seems as if the entire unit isn't getting power.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might go about fixing this, or what the problem might be? I honestly don't see how a remote turn-on wire or a power wire running from my battery to an amplifier could have anything to do with the stereo not working...

Thanks in advance.

Only thing I can think about is that the remote wire have been disconnected somewhere so the amp doesn't see that your car is on to power it up with the radio, but then again your radio not being lit up doesn't make sense, did you check your fuses? maybe two opposite wires contacted each other causing a short.

The only radio fuse I can access is the 15 amp under the hood, and yeah it seemed to be just fine.

Apparently there's another radio fuse behind the instrument panel, but I really have no way to access it without taking the *entire* dash apart, and taking the stereo itself out is a big enough pain as it is...

All of the wires in the harnesses behind the stereo itself are fine, none are pulled out or loose or anything, so this really isn't making much sense to me at all...

The fuse in the dash should have a panel to remove to get to it. I havent done it yet in the gen 6 but you shouldnt have to take apart the dash to get a fuse.

This is wrong information. The fuse box is located in the foot well in the drivers side. There is a panel that pulls off to expose the fuses and also tells what they go to. Unless you have really small fingers, you will need tweasers.

He is an Aussie so it may be different there. Their pass side is our drivers side so it may in fact be the same area

If the fuse is blown I would inspect the wiring to make sure there isn't any shorts. I'm guessing that you have a short somewhere in the wiring that occured during your panic stop. A panic stop should not affect the vehicle. I suspect it's in the add ons that you've done. Check everything VERY closely.

Is your battery secure? Could it have slid during your stop and disconnected the wire or caused a short?
