08 Camry: Max Speaker Mounting Depth (Fronts)

I am looking to purchase a set of 6.5 mids that require 3.125" mounting depth. Will this be possible or will I need a spacer. If I use a 3/4" spacer can I still get the door panel back on? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did search and found several posts that mention our Camrys have require shallow fit speakers however I didn't see any indication on mounting depths. I also looked on Crutchfield for the speakers that fit and saw some different mounting depths available like 2-1/8" 2" etc.

Thanks, Matt

Try Crutchfield.com. They should have a web page that gives all that information for most cars.

I made a baffle for my car out of 3/4 mdf. The door closed just fine. Just used the 6x9 as my template.

Those are nice looking baffles, but what was the mounting depth of the speaker you replaced it with?

I tried Crutchfield again, but couldn find a page that lists the mounting depth. I looked at most of the speakers "that fits" according to their site and couldnt find anything over 2-2/8". If I added a 3/4" baffle I would be cutting it very close. I am trying to determine before I shell out the cash for these speakers whether or not they will fit.

Edit: I just used Crutchfield's online chat and Greg told me that:
I show there to be 2-1/2" of depth with available mounting height being around 7/8".

So, adding the two, it looks like I should have 3.375" to work with when I only need 3.125" for the speaker I want to use. Does this sound right or am I missing something?
Thanks, Matt

I've successfully installed 3-3/16" depth speakers polk 691 without any problems using plastic adapters in front and rear of my 09 camry.
