I see that the Terk XM kit that sold for $149 and some got for as low as $99 has been discontinued ( http://store.xmfanstore.com/texmfortovex.html ). All I see now is an ebay kit for over $250. Is that the only DIY solution left to add XM to an 09 Camry w/ JBL?
Thanks

You definitely need XMDTLK, discontinued or not, and it will work very well with the JBL system.
I see that XMDTLK is still on Terk's web site, with no mention at all of any discontinuation.
Still, though, I wouldn't touch ANY XM/Sirius receiver at this point, as they now have full approval for the "merger" (actually "hostile takeover of XM by Sirius, with the XM suits laughing all the way to the bank"). Things should change 100% from here forward, absolutely most especially with receivers that allegedly will be able to receive "a la carte" programming consisting of just the channels you want from either service.
I would definitely recommend studying up on where things are in terms of physically carrying out the merged programming, and waiting until you can get a receiver that will be able to receive the merged programming. That's essentially what I'm doing -- I've had XM in the past and enjoyed it, but my current car doesn't have it, and I won't go for any satellite service until I can get a new receiver and antenna that'll be able to get the full programming that'll be available. This is definitely a good time to wait and see what happens!
Your first link is a 5 year old used kit for $170 and I don't think you even looked at the last two as one is nothing and the other clearly says discontinued.
I guess the days of an XM kit for $99 or even $149 are gone.
I found one for $129, but it looks like the tuner is not included for that price anymore.

Don't expect anything to change for 18-24 months.

Well, I never tried to put a timeframe on it before, but I sure wasn't expecting anything anytime soon!
Personally, "I can wait." If they want my money, they can just go ahead and get their act together, especially with that "a la carte" business. I really don't want about three-quarters of anything they're broadcasting, so if I can get and pay for just the one-quarter I want, that'll work just fine with me!

Today is your lucky day. I originated this post almost two years ago and bought the Terk package for $99 for my Camry Hybrid: Terk integrated XM tuner for Gen6
That XM setup was great, but last week I started to part out the Camry Hybrid because it's for sale. Further, I specifically bought a Valor DVD head unit for my new ride that accepts the Terk XMD1000 tuner for satellite input. The XMD1000 tuner is already installed in my new car with the Valor, but what I no longer need is the XMDTLK adaptor. So...
I am willing to sell you the XMDTLK Toyota adaptor and harness for $75 shipped 48 states. All you need to do is purchase the XMD1000 tuner which I see online for $54 new on Amazon (or $47 used). You get your XM setup for $129 plus a few buck shipping for your tuner.
PM me if interested.
