Yes the SE suspension is way firmer and SPORTIER, but you can get the Other models upgraded with after market parts, but the rear brace between the strut towers behind the back seat will make the SE my choice and the drivers SEAT.

..their was a thread from thoots a while back explaining that the XLE and SE are not all that different (except the struts itself) in the back. He explained with pictures that the brace behind the seats is also present in the XLE even though often not mentioned.
But yeah, would be bad if the SE would not have the more "sport tuned suspension" ....it is the sport edition after all.

Yep, XLE has the rear "V-brace," just like the SE. Of course, the SE has other suspension tweaks, plus bigger, lower-profile tires, as has been mentioned. And the LE doesn't have either V-brace or suspension tweaks.
I can't really say from a "V6" perspective, but I think my V6 SE actually rides a bit BETTER than my old I4 XLE -- the extra engine weight seems to help it "cushion the bumps" better. Plus, I'm very happy with the SE's handling -- it's just an overall, very competent combination of ride and handling. I'm 100% satisfied from both ends of the spectrum with the SE V6.
And, again as has been mentioned, the SE seat is worth going for the SE, no matter what you like or not about ANYTHING else. It is an entirely different seat in terms of cushioning and bolstering, and it holds you in place, compared to how I wound up just "splayed all over the seat" in the XLE, with my legs hanging over the minimal bolsters, rather than being held in place by them, etc.
