5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I know there may be topics about this about I want to confirm about the adjustment for the rear sway bar. The service guy at the dealer said there was no adjustment for the TRD rear sway bar and even the parts guy said no. Or am I mistaken about the 3 holes on the bar itself and where I position the hole will make a difference in the stiffness of the bar.
ok so I am going to tell the guys at the dealer to adjust it to the hole closest to the bar when I install my springs next week at the dealer. But I wonder they didn't tell me they could adjust it even though I said are there any adjustments to make the bar stiffer??
i also have the TRD bar and i can confirm it has 3 settings
inner, which is closest to the sway bar link is the autox setting, which mine is always on
the middle is slightly less stiff
and the outer is the least stiff

Did you install yours yourself? and if so..how bad was it to do etc? How much difference did it make on all settings compared to stock bar?

Which TRD Rear Sway Bar did you get it for the Gen 5 or Gen 6?? Because when I went to the dealer they said that the hole farthest from the hole is the stiffest and better handling. The hole closest to the bar would make it less stiff and decrease the strength of the bar.

there is no TRD RSB for the Gen6...and the dealer is wrong.

Do you want me to post some pics and check if they are the right settings??? How long you going to be on the forum? They also said for the 2005 Camry you cannot adjust them, the holes are only there to fit the size of the car whether is a Camry or Solara.

It's a Gen 5 bar.
The dealer doesn't know what they're talking about. Reread the posts in the thread from people who have already installed theirs.

Yes, you can adjust them. Reread the other replies and looks at the pictures posted.
If you aren't going to rely on the people giving you advice, why are you even asking?
