5th & 6th Generation (2002-2006 & 2007-2011)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 2002-2006 & 2007-2011
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Brought my 07 XLE to the dealership for the regular oil change, has only 15,639km on it. I mentioned to the mechanic to check two items of concern for me.
1) the engine kicks down too quick and acceleration hesitates a bit
2) the passenger seat belt makes a small clicking sound everytime I accelerate and stop.
Correction:
1) the mechanic flashed the computer management with the latest 'calibration #' 895363301200, now the car flys, and no hesitation. I'll keep an eye on it so see if it improves a yet great gas mileage car. (yes, the flash is for the V6)
2) the mechanic just replaced the seat belt under warranty, but still hear the clicking noise, has anyone experience this problem ?
otherwise, I'm happy with the tranny shifting !
Harvey.

The seatbelt of the front always vibrate if not place correctly in my '07 SE V6. A normal unbuckle won't place it correctly back so when I hear the vibration I have to reach over and correct it. Annoying.

What GTA dealer did you go to? Mine was hesitating on acceleration so I brought it to Whitby Toyota and the ECU flash they did didn't really make a noticeable difference. I'd like to try it again.

I took it to Pickering Toyota. And mechanic updated it for me. He hooked up the laptop, went onto their Toyota support site, grabbed the latest flash.

Any idea if this new update would help my 3-4 flare? I got mine reflashed less than a month ago and the flares came back after about a week. I'm thinking of taking it back but I'd like to avoid the full transmission replacement if possible.
This might be a totally unrelated problem, I'm not sure oh well...
even in the 'home' position ...it can still knock around and rattle. Having the window open doesn't help either.
The Camry curve a little so the home position is far out but that open window could set it swinging. Though it pulls tight enough that I don't find the home position a problem on my Camry.

Better do it while it's still under warranty. It does help.

I would make sure that the trans. fluid is full before you have them go further.

good call, I remember reading about that somewhere... If that doesn't help I want to try a new reflash if possible since it did work if only temporarily, also in case my car has any problems that are fixed with a new reflash that I haven't really noticed. If all else fails I'll get the tranny replaced, I've heard some bad things but hopefully the good out weigh them.
